'"At this point, in most areas of the country, it is assumed that someone has access to the Internet," said Susannah Fox, an associate director at the Pew Internet & American Life Project. But the reality is different for certain segments of the population, including the foreign-born, those who speak mostly Spanish, people without a high school degree and the elderly.
